Online Therapy for Anxiety and Stress in New York, Massachusetts, and Florida
I offer online therapy for anxiety and stress to adults located anywhere in New York, Massachusetts, and Florida, through secure video sessions you can join from wherever you feel most at ease. My practice is based in Albany, New York, and I'm in-network with CDPHP, Highmark Blue Shield of Northeastern New York, and MVP Health Care.
I work with adults exhausted by anxiety, stress, and high sensitivity, especially those drawn to a spiritual path. We work to understand how your experiences impact your life, shifting into internal exploration while learning emotional regulation and coping tools. We will work together to create goals that fit for you by drawing on your unique strengths, needs, and preferences.
When anxiety and stress stop feeling manageable
Anxiety doesn't always look like panic. For a lot of people it looks like a mind that won't switch off at night, a running list of everything that could go wrong, or a body that stays braced even when nothing is happening. Stress works the same way. It builds a little at a time — work, family, health, money, the news — until one more small thing feels like too much.
You might recognize some of this:
- Worry that loops, even when you know it isn't helping
- Lying awake while your mind keeps going
- Feeling on edge, irritable, or short with people you care about
- Tension you carry in your shoulders, jaw, or stomach
- Putting things off because starting feels overwhelming
- Feeling drained after days that "shouldn't" have been that hard
Anxious all the time, but still getting things done
Some of the most anxious people are also the most dependable. They meet deadlines, show up for everyone, and keep things running, while their mind never stops worrying in the background. This is often called high-functioning anxiety. It isn't a formal diagnosis, but it's a real pattern, and the fact that you're still getting things done doesn't mean it isn't costing you. Therapy is a place to stop performing "fine" and look honestly at what's going on.
How we work on it together
My approach is warm, collaborative, and holistic. We'll slow things down and get curious about what sits underneath the anxiety — what sets it off, what it's trying to protect you from, and what it's costing you. From there, we'll build tools you can actually use between sessions.
I draw on several evidence-based approaches and adapt them to fit you:
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps you make room for anxious thoughts without letting them make your decisions, and reconnect with what matters most to you.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps you notice anxious thinking patterns and check them against what's actually true.
- Mindfulness-based work gives you ways to come back to the present moment when your mind races ahead.
- Compassion-focused work helps soften the harsh inner critic that so often rides along with anxiety and stress.
We'll set goals together, and we'll build on the strengths you already have rather than starting from what's wrong with you.
If you're highly sensitive, or spirituality matters to you
Anxiety and stress often hit harder for people who feel things deeply. If you see yourself as a highly sensitive person, we'll treat that sensitivity as a strength to work with, not a flaw to fix.
And if faith or spirituality is part of how you cope, it's welcome here as a real resource, not something to leave at the door.

Questions about anxiety and stress therapy
What's the difference between stress and anxiety?
Stress is usually a response to something in front of you — a deadline, a move, a heavy caregiving load. Anxiety tends to linger after the stressor eases, or shows up without a clear cause. The two often overlap, and we can work on both in the same sessions.
Does online therapy work for anxiety?
Online sessions use the same evidence-based approaches used in office-based therapy. Many people find it easier to show up from home, especially on days when anxiety makes a commute or a waiting room feel like a lot.
Will I leave sessions with things I can actually use?
Yes. Alongside understanding where your anxiety comes from, we'll practice emotional regulation and coping tools you can use between sessions, and adjust them as we learn what works for you.
Which type of therapist is best for anxiety?
Look for a licensed therapist who uses evidence-based approaches for anxiety, such as CBT and ACT, and someone you feel comfortable talking to. The free 15-minute consultation is a low-pressure way to check that fit.
Do you offer online anxiety therapy for older adults?
Yes. I work with adults of all ages, including elders (65+), located in New York, Massachusetts, or Florida. Sessions are by secure video, so you'll need a phone, tablet, or computer with a camera and an internet connection.
Free 15-minute consultation
You don't have to have it all figured out right now. Starting a new path takes just one step, and it can feel so much more doable with support. When you're ready, reach out by call, text, or email — I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation, a relaxed chance to share what's on your mind and get a sense for what it could be like working together.
